Terms unique to this sector: Many of the roles are quant focused, so a sound understanding of a wide range of quant techniques is key. Segmentations, A/B Testing, Google Analytics, SQL, SEO, SEM, PPC, Tableau. Campaign Analysis. A degree in a media background is useful but not essential.

Analysts and Insight executives tend to get paid a slightly higher salary than traditional researchers.
Entry-level analysts can be paid approx. £27k-£31k with managers moving on to the £40k’s. With more data-oriented skills tending to be in higher demand than traditional research skills. Interestingly, the larger companies tend to attract talent based on their name and reputation rather than salary. The highest echelons of big media agencies can pay salaries upwards of £120k+.
