Job Description

How can Governments better connect with the public in this changing political landscape? Are you interested in the research that goes behind political speeches, from the tone of voice through to the words that they use? Do you want to understand the problems that face us on a global scale and use this understanding to make an impact?

We are working with a mid-sized independent research agency that specialises in socially-conscious research. What this means for you is that from a junior level you will be involved in the full entirety of a project. This is not only research the projects, diving deep into the qualitative fieldwork, but going further with the insights and reporting. With training and support from a talented senior team, you will also become the strategic counsel for the like of Macmillan Cancer Support, McDonalds, the NHS, the BBC, Home Office, Human Rights Watch and many more organisations that operate on an international scale.

They are seen as ‘Generalist Specialists’ and encourage their researchers to build and work on areas that truly interest them. But alongside this, they will expose you to a diverse number of projects which covers a huge spectrum of social research, not only developing yourself as a researcher, but leading to an extremely varied and rewarding role.

Traditionally, researchers tend to be qualitative and many proposals have been created by investigating conflict groups, stakeholder comms testing and creative testing to frame issues. They believe in the power of evidence and integrate statistical techniques and analysis to back up their findings with hard numbers. Again, another change to diversify your research experience with qualitative and quantitative techniques.

If you’re looking to add a significant contribution to projects on a global scale and improve our understanding of policy, company reputation and charity communication, then apply below.
