Research Assistant
£22,000 + 16% bonus!
Newbury – 1 day a week in the office.

The Client

We are working with an independent and trusted market research partner, specialising in the technology sector. They deliver data and insights for marketing content and contribute to the global success of some of the world’s biggest technology companies. They are a friendly team with an excellent company culture and a supportive work environment with a 2-week training scheme and constant support. They also offer support through the entire research process, with expertise in sampling, questionnaire design, project management, and data interpretation and analysis. They are looking to grow the team due to record figures of recent.

The Role

A Research Assistant is part of the operations team and is responsible for running the fieldwork stage of their research projects with support from Research Executives, working with external panel and translation suppliers to direct traffic to the survey and ensuring that they meet fieldwork timings and requirements. They undertake data processing and quality control checks on datasets in Excel and in their survey software (Confirmit), with support and guidance from other team members.

Research Assistants can progress into a Research Executive role in time, taking on more independent management of research projects, and helping provide accurate and appropriate costs for proposals.


1.     Bachelor’s degree qualification, 2:1 or above (or equivalent)
2.     Proven knowledge of research methods from either degree work or work experience
3.     Proven track record of creating online surveys and/or working with quantitative data through their degree work or work experience
4.     Proven capabilities in at least five of the following key areas; accuracy and attention to detail, teamworking, proactive deadline management, proactive workload management, effective communication, knowledge of best practice.


Holiday: 25 days of annual leave each year, plus bank holidays off. Holiday entitlement increases in line with length of service (up to 30 days)
Bonus: New starters qualify to be included in the performance-related company bonus scheme after successfully passing their probation period. Research Assistants have the potential to earn up to 16% of their salary per year, depending on their own performance and the company performance which is paid annually.

Working arrangements: Flexible working allowing team members to work from home with the requirement to work from the office a minimum of 20% of the time. Working hours typically 9am-5pm with one hour lunch break, with core hours 10-4pm.
