The role is using merchandising data, which is a more complex data source. The types of questions you will be answering are more about what drives behaviour, rather than just looking at sales. This makes for a more technically challenging but ultimately, far more interesting analytics role as you are understanding what drives consumers through understanding the website and app layout, the ease of navigation and the factors that influence their behaviour through purchasing decisions.
Additionally, you will provide data and insight support to the Product Team to help identify areas of opportunity to develop their services and to analyse the impact of new initiatives.
Commercial awareness is important, having the ability to weigh up multiple factors when making recommendations to multiple stakeholders within this business as well with their newly founded massive partnership.
They run regular training sessions on the key tools needed – choosing visualisations, presentation skills, SQL, R, VBA, and more. It’s a great chance develop your analytical skills alongside stakeholder management.
