We’re looking for a Commercial & Insights Director to join the head up the UK team of a successful, growing agency.
We’re working with a mixed-methods insight agency, they’re a close-knit team of about 20 or so across 2 offices. They’re a full-service agency working across a host of sectors including FMCG, Retail, Financial Services, Tech, Media and Higher Education. Projects span quant and qual covering clients challenges around Brand, Customer and Product. The UK team were set up in 2020 and are a team 5 strong (soon to be 7), with further recruitment planned later in the year.
What’s really interesting is that they’ve formed a partnership with 2 other agencies, one a creative agency and the other a digital agency. Combined the group will be about 100 people strong, the group are also acquiring more businesses, so it is an exciting time to join!
There’s a lot of collaboration between agencies with the research agency supporting on any insight work. At that same time, they’re still independent in that they still work with the current clients and current projects moving forward. They’ve already built ‘shared offers and propositions’ which they’re taking to clients and winning business as a result.
This is a brand-new role sitting on their leadership team, it’s a broad role but one where you can really make a difference. It’ll involve managing the team, managing clients, overseeing working, senior client presentations, managing the UK P&L and sales and marketing.
They have good support in place for the Commercial & Insights Director to be successful, they’ve hired a Marketing Manager who’s been helping with their content and webinars etc. They also have a new Business Development Executive who is purely focused on BD, lead generation and outbound stuff. So they’re involved in arranging meetings for the Commercial & Insights Director, then it’s your role to be the research expert, really understand their business & challenges and build the relationship going forward, delivering good research.
The role is probably 70% on the current team, current projects and current clients. Then 30% will be spent working with the BD exec on ‘new business. Skills wise the biggest growth is coming from their quant business so are looking for a senior quantie with bags of personality or a mixed methods research by trade.
10 plus years of market research experience.
Practical Quantitative or mixed methods skills.
Broad sector experience.
Experiencing running a team and developing clients.
The role can be based from either London or Leeds and post Covid it’ll be 3 days in the office. We’ve placed 2 people already with this business – both really happy and enjoying the work. They’re looking to take the business to the next level and need someone senior to help them achieve their goals.
