We hope everyone is staying safe!
There aren’t as many new vacancies generally at the moment although there are some areas of insight that aren’t suffering, so it’s keeping an eye on our job search page. We also recommend setting up job alerts to be one of the first to know when we do post new vacancies.
In the meantime, between homeschooling, cooking, exercise and zoom calls use this time to think about your CV and your career.
The insight industry was already changing, Covid 19 is going to accelerate that. So now is the time to think about your skills and market experience. How can you ensure that what you offer employers is a package they are really going to want and need in six months’ time and in five years’ time.
Do your research; which areas are going to flourish after this? There are lots of free webinars being posted right now by organisations like ESOMAR, and Big Data, so this is easy to do. Some that I have found really informative are the Leader Roundtables by Greenbook.
Some areas are having a ‘good’ crisis; packaged goods and pharmaceutical markets for example. Some skills are already clearly in higher demand, market and business intelligence, behavioural economics, digital research, social listening and fast commercial insight generally. Can you demonstrate experience in some of these areas, if not how are you going to get those skills to position your career in the future.
