CEO of ENI Elizabeth Norman started recruiting Market Researchers in 1985 and started ENI in 1989. Prior to that she had worked as a market researcher for IBM and then Media Audits (now Accenture). She has remained passionate about the diverse and rapidly changing of Data, Insight, and Market Research ever since. Chance meant Elizabeth’s research career started in quantitative tracking data. It was her desire to move across to qualitative research and the obstacles she faced when trying to make such a move, that made her realise there was a need for a specialist recruitment consultancy covering the Data and Intelligence industry. One that understood the complexities, and could partner both applicants and clients to take best advantage of the huge range of roles and skills, within it.

The idea of marketing research is developed by a man named Daniel Starch. This is about the same time that advertising was introduced in the United States. At that time, copywriters would write what they thought an ad should be, publish the ad, and then hope that readers would act upon the information provided.
