Here is a brief overview of working abroad.
Europe/EU
Elizabeth Norman International work across Europe and the EU and can offer a variety of vacancies. However, special working rights are becoming commonplace and sponsorship is diminishing. Nevertheless, if you don’t have a visa to work in Europe currently you may be eligible for a visa through the Highly Skilled Migrants Programme. If you live in a Commonwealth country and are under the age of 30 you can apply for a working holiday visa but increasingly we are finding that employers are not keen to take on applicants with this visa as they can only take them on for 12 months in a two-year period.
Working in France
Actencia Executive, founded in 1985, offers services in recruitment of executives and experts. Under the impulsion of Jean-Paul Aimetti, now President of ADETEM (French Marketing Association) Actencia Executive has developed a specific expertise in the recruitment of market researchers and marketing executives within the French market, as well as recruiting in the media and digital areas. Working in association with Actencia, Elizabeth Norman International is able to help candidates looking for a move to or from France.
Asia
We can offer a diversity of vacancies in this region. Visas are easier to come by. However salaries for expats in the region are no longer as high as they were. Speaking Chinese is a real benefit as the importance of the country in the region grows, and some employers would prefer candidates who have at least some first hand knowledge of the region.
Australia/New Zealand
Another busy region for us. Visas are easier to come by, even if you don’t already live in the region and you can even qualify by applying independently through the points system. There is a lot of potential for researchers with an agency background, but also media planners and advertising planners are highly sought after here. Nevertheless, the number of vacancies in brand consultancies and on the client side is limited.
USA
Not as buoyant as the above, however we do work with another recruitment agency in this region who has extensive local knowledge of insight vacancies. Working here is problematic. If you don’t have papers it is difficult to get potential employers interested although for particular skills such as insight, international and planning they might make an exception.
Latin America
With the exception of a few vacancies mainly in Mexico we do very little in this part of the world.
Africa
Another part of the world where we do very little recruitment, although we have done some work in South Africa.
Middle East
We are doing more and more recruitment in this part of the world, mainly with research agencies and it isn't difficult to get visas to work here.
